“Why to Volunteer” – 1 Peter 4:11: “Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.” NASB
In today’s understanding, serving can sound like a difficult word. It may come off as a task or an obstacle to get done with. With busy and full schedules, serving may be an afterthought for many. Nevertheless, we, as Christians, are called to serve. Not only to serve but to serve with our entire being as it glorifies Christ. That said, Christians serve the church but we also serve the community. We are not called to provide for just our own but all those in need. In other words, those who are in front of us.
Baptist Homes & Healthcare Ministries was originally created to care for ministers and pastors who could no longer care for themselves. Today, after much growth, we are an institution that serves both the community and the church. As far as we have come we still need volunteers and donations. We are not asking for a financial blessing alone. Everyone has God-given talents and abilities and we are asking that you use them with us for the glory of God.
